Welcome to Lifebox: Tracker ("Lifebox", "we", "us", or "our"). Lifebox is your personal daily command center, unifying tasks, habits, goals, expenses, events, notes, and reminders into a focused offline-first workflow. We believe your personal productivity logs and daily life records belong solely to you. This Privacy Policy outlines what information is handled by Lifebox, where your data resides, how optional features operate, and how you retain complete control over your records.

Lifebox manages only the information you voluntarily enter into the application: - Tasks & Checklist Items: Titles, priority levels (low, medium, high), due dates, categories, recurrence settings, and completion status. - Habits & Streaks: Names, target frequencies, streak counts, daily log histories, and color badges. - Goals & Milestones: Objectives, target deadlines, target metrics, progress markers, and milestone notes. - Expenses & Financial Ledger: Expense amounts, category designations (needs, wants, savings), descriptions, timestamps, and monthly budget caps. - Schedule & Events: Event titles, dates, start/end times, locations, and agenda details. - Notes & Ideas: Note titles, body text, tags, pinned status, and modification timestamps. - Reminders: Reminder descriptions, trigger times, recurrence, and completed states. - User Preferences: Display name, timezone, date/time format choices, week start day preference, theme mode (dark/light), and onboarding status.

Local Storage by Default: All data you record in Lifebox is stored locally on your device using your browser's localStorage or the Android application's private sandboxed storage. No Centralized Remote Database: Lifebox does not operate or connect to a remote database server (no Firebase, Cloud SQL, Supabase, or remote user database). Your personal logs are not uploaded to our servers or synchronized to an external cloud database. Backups: Any backup files you create through the export feature remain entirely on your local filesystem under your direct custody.

Lifebox offers optional AI-assisted features (Daily AI Plan, Next Best Action, Goal Breakdown, Daily Summary, and Quick Add NLP). Data Transmission: When you explicitly request an AI feature, the necessary prompt context (such as pending task titles or goal descriptions) is sent over an encrypted HTTPS connection to our backend proxy and forwarded to Google Gemini API (@google/genai) to generate the response. Deterministic Local Fallback: If Google Gemini API is unconfigured or a request times out (8-second threshold), Lifebox executes a deterministic local algorithm on your device without sending data externally. Model Training: Customer API inputs transmitted to Google Gemini are governed by Google Cloud's commercial terms, which state that API data is not used to train or improve foundational models.

You can export your complete dashboard data at any time via Settings -> Export Backup (downloads a .json file) or Copy Backup (copies JSON to your clipboard). You may restore data at any time using Import Backup. Security Notice: Exported backup files are unencrypted JSON text files. You are responsible for storing your exported backups securely.

Lifebox: Tracker may introduce advertising, analytics, or related services in the future to support the development and maintenance of the application. If these services are introduced, this Privacy Policy will be updated as appropriate to explain the services used, the information they may collect or process, their purposes, and relevant third-party practices. Advertising and analytics features, including any features accessible to children, will be reviewed against applicable privacy requirements before implementation.

The optional "Support Lifebox" contribution feature is processed by Lemon Squeezy as Merchant of Record and its payment partners (such as Stripe). Lifebox never receives, accesses, or stores your payment card numbers, bank account information, or security codes. Payment processing is governed by Lemon Squeezy's Privacy Policy.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. Data is processed externally only in the following user-directed instances: 1. When you explicitly invoke an optional AI feature (transmitted to Google Gemini API). 2. When you make a voluntary contribution (handled directly by Lemon Squeezy). 3. When required by enforceable legal process.

You have immediate, self-service control over data retention. In Settings, selecting Reset All Data permanently erases all tasks, habits, expenses, goals, notes, reminders, and schedule events from local storage immediately. Uninstalling the application or clearing browser/app storage also permanently removes all local records.

Your information is protected by your device's application sandboxing. All external communications (such as loading assets or AI prompts) use Transport Layer Security (HTTPS). While we employ reasonable technical safeguards, no electronic system is 100% impenetrable.

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Any changes will be posted within the application with an updated "Effective Date".
